GARDENS WITH EPIPHYTES

By epiphytes we mean plants which grow on other trees without becoming parasitic. They have a very small root system which usually functions only as a stabilizing device and not to receive nutritional substances.  They have impressive leaves and flowers. They can be placed anywhere but what will steal the show will be to fasten them on old trunks creating a live part of the wild jungle.  Beyond bromeliads you can use small philodendron, ripsalidopsis, orchids and many other plants with limited development.
